Discovered rock carvings in the Khanagah village, Julfa region

Recently, on a large rock near the village Khanagah of Julfa region (east of the ruins of the village of Orta Anzir) were found rock signs.

As a result of preliminary researches it has become clear that the found rock drawings consist of three drawings. During creation 2 of them was used the equipment of a scraping and one by cutting.

According to the head of the Department of Archaeology of the ancient period of ANAS Institute of History, Ethnography and Archaeology of Nakhchivan Branch, corresponding member of ANAS Veli Bakhshaliyev images were created in different periods.

Analogs of the drawings drawn with a scraping method are known to science from Gemigaya.

For information note that, the similar images having ambiguous content, mainly are a symbol of the person and a tree of life. The third image differing in technology of drawing has been created by means of the metal tool.

According to Veli Bakhshaliyev, the first two from rock signs belong to the II-I millennium BC. and the third image is related to the I millennium BC.
