Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On October 27, ANAS Central Scientific Library (CSL) and Knowledge Foundation under President of the Republic of Azerbaijan co-organized an event dubbed “A day in library” devoted to the International School Library Day.

Opening the event director of CSL, PhD in Medicine Leyla Imanova spoke about the importance of International School Library Day. She stressed out the role of science, education, and culture and noted that students are dominated among the readers of CSL.

CEO CSL Oktay Samadov made speech on works done concerning book and libraries. It is necessary to create libraries to the trains, hotels, embassies, including children's entertainment centers.

An employee of Funds Protection Section at the Department of Library-Service, Honored Culture Worker Adila Mammadova presented “Bulk of miniature book”, which stored at the Rare Book Fund of the Library. 640 miniature books are stored in this fund. These books are mostly obtained from Moscow Central Book Collector and by exchange of book.

An employee of Knowledge Foundation Ramila Gurbanli submitted “Azerbaijan tales” book, prepared joint with students of the Fund and tales were published in English.

Later, an employee of Fund Formation Section at the Department of Library-Service Khadija Aghayeva informed the event attendees about documents included the library in September-October (books, theses, journals etc.)

In closing, message of thanks was given to a group of librarians by Knowledge Fund.
