Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

November 11, in the main building of ANAS with the organizational support of the Division of Humanities was held scientific session on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the birth of the famous scientist-linguist, acting Director of the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi, corresponding member of ANAS Mohsun Naghisoylu.

At the event, the Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the scientific activity of the outstanding scientist. It was noted that having high human qualities scientist has invaluable merits in the study of literature and manuscripts of the ancient period, as well as the study of their literary and linguistic qualities: "Significant works of the scientist, created on the basis of manuscripts middle and old ages are important and rare source for the preparation of the concept translation of national art of Azerbaijan in the period of independence.”

Spoke on "Prominent researcher of written monuments", Doctor of philological sciences, Professor Pasha Karimov told about the hero of the day, works done in different periods of his scientific activity. The scientist noted that during his work at the Institute of Manuscripts M.Naghisoylu spent valuable research on the basis of the Turkic-speaking and Persian manuscripts: "As a result of these studies from the philological point of view were studied manuscripts of Azerbaijani translation works of XV-XVI centuries, two of them -" Gulshani-raz”, “Hadisi-arbein" presented the scientific community for the first time, the texts of some of them are prepared for publication." It has been said that the main object of M.Naghisoylu’s research is Azerbaijani translation of written monuments of the Middle Ages, which are important from the point of view of a comprehensive study of the classical national literature.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, corresponding member of ANAS Govhar Bakhshaliyeva Academician Vasim Mammadaliyev, PhD in Philology Sayali Sadigova, PhD in Philology Baba Maharramli and others spoke about the life and work of the scientist's contribution to the Azerbaijani linguistics and Textual, as well as high human qualities.

M.Naghisoylu expressed gratitude to the academy leadership and event participants for their attention and care.
