Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

November 23, the delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic in Azerbaijan Wei Chinhuan visited the Institute of Oriental Studies on behalf Acad. Z.Bunyadov ANAS. The Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Public Relations of the Embassy Jen Hai Nin, director of the Confucius Institute at the Azerbaijan side with the Chinese University of Languages Ms. Lee Zhinhua and director of the Confucius Institute of the Azerbaijani side Rafig Abbasov.

Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, corresponding member of ANAS Govhar Bakhshaliyeva informed the guest about scientific directions. She presented the guests the books published by employees of the Institute of Sinology.

Speaking then Head of the Department of the Asia-Pacific Oriental Institute of Zenfira Shyhalibeyli informed about the research conducted at the institute in the field of Sinology.

Speaking about the cooperation between the two countries, the ambassador noted the invaluable contribution of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to the creation and development of these relations. Expressing satisfaction with the research conducted at the Institute in connection with China, the ambassador stressed the need to strengthen scientific cooperation between the two countries.

Further, a contract was signed between the Institute of Oriental Studies and the Confucius Institute at the Azerbaijan University of Languages. The contract was signed by Director of the Institute of Oriental Govhar Bakhshaliyeva and Directors of the Confucius Institute at the Azerbaijan University of Languages Lee Zhinhua and Rafig Abbasov.

The contract had stipulated the preparation and implementation of joint research projects, exchange of academics, organization of joint scientific conferences and workshops, providing at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the activities of the Confucius Institute at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, publication of books, organization of special training courses on Chinese language, ensure the scientific literature and additional materials and other issues.

Then the guests visited the Department of the Asia-Pacific region.
