Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

“Azerbaijan in the VII-XII centuries: history, sources, comments” book has been published by the director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History of ANAS Academician Naila Velikhanli. The book, publishing by the decree of ANAS Presidium, is used medieval Arabic historical and geographical sources.

Relying on relevant scientific literature the publication covers six-century period of Azerbaijan history, which began with the annexation of Azerbaijan to the Arab Caliphate in the midst of VII century and completed in the early XII century by Mongol attacks. The work conducts several issues and challenges about relationship between Caliphate and IX-XII century Azerbaijan.

The book is intended for historians, oriental studiers, including for those who are interested in early mediaeval ages Azerbaijan history and geography.
