Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On February 15, 2014 the 80th anniversary of the prominent Azerbaijani scientist, teacher and organizer of science and education, public figure, State Prize, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, academician Arif Mir Jalal oglu Pashayev were executed. ANAS Presidium issued a decree on awarding honorary diploma academician Arif Pashayev for achievements in the development of physical sciences as well as in connection with the 80th anniversary. Arif Pashayev graduated at Odessa Electro technical Institute of Communications; his first job was the Baku State University and the first post - the post lab. Knowledge and the talent multiplied by work, allowed it to move ahead constantly on science and career steps. For the first time in system of Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan he created installation of high sensitivity. Further, having gone further away, he developed a contactless method of research of electric, photo-electric and other properties of semiconductors. As result of these opening and scientific works, mass production of the devices offered scientists was begun, and these works Arif Pashayev directly directed. Finally, in 1978 he defended his doctoral thesis on “Physical basis of non-destructive methods for the study of semiconductors, principles and perspectives of development” and received the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Without being content reached, Arif Pashayev constantly broadened the sphere of the scientific researches, achieved more powerful results. Its works were published in a number of prestigious scientific editions of foreign countries. For merits in the development of physics, in particular for his achievements in the field of autonomous sonar information system, in 1991, he was awarded the State Prize of Azerbaijan SSR. Under his leadership, were created progressive, economically viable and environmentally friendly ways and means to combat hydrate in oil and gas pipelines and paraffin in the oil pipes. Arif Pashayev has authored more than 400 scientific articles and over 30 books and monographs, received more than 60 patents. Since 1996 heading the National Academy of Aviation, Arif Pashayev made a big contribution and to this area. Under its management were brought up and the national shots necessary for national aircraft as water and air, - pilots, engineers, as a whole, shots on 16 specialties are brought up. Rector of the Azerbaijan National Aviation Academy, academician Arif Pashayev for achievement in science in 2004 was awarded the Order of “Glory” in 2009 - “Sharaf”. He was also awarded the “Golden Badge” Nobel laureate I.V.Pavlova, “Gold Medal” World Intellectual Property Organization, the medal named after academician Y.Mamedaliyev, “Gold Medal” International Aviation Committee, order “Glory engineering” International Academy of Engineering. Congratulations to the outstanding scientist of Azerbaijan Arif Pashayev 80th anniversary! We wish him a long life and success in the development of Azerbaijani science.
