Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS held the presentation of the book by Institute of Manuscripts named after M. Fuzuli, famous artist Fakhraddin Ali "In the wake of a single book. Azerbaijani mugham in the miniatures."

At the event, head of the Department of International and Public Relations Mubariz Goyushlu spoke about the importance of publication and presented the work of F.Aliyev.

Head of the Department of Library Services of CSL Aygun Safarova noted that the book reflects the views on mugham are an important contribution to the development of national music.

Next, Professor Kars University in Turkey, managing editor of the book Rafig Imran told about the merits of the book presented. It was noted that the book is dedicated to the development of Azerbaijani culture, the study of ancient art mugham, is a valuable source in this area.

At the event, the director of CSL, PhD in Medicine Leyla Imanova noted that important work is done in the library, serving the propaganda of Azerbaijan. Informing on the basis of the National Digital Memory CSL, the director noted that the purpose is to collect, organize, digitize, including in an electronic catalog, archiving and presenting readers existing in Azerbaijan and outside information about the contribution of the ancient Azerbaijani culture and history of the development of mankind.

Speaking at the presentation, the teacher of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, Honored Artist Teyyub Aslanov, head of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS Sevil Farhadova, teacher of Music College named after A. Zeynalli Maharram Dovlatov and others congratulated the author and wished him new successes.

In conclusion, the author of the book, well-known artist Fakhraddin Ali expressed his gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event, as well as those who contributed to the publication of the book. He rejected the view that mugham is the fruit of Islamic culture and stressed that its roots go back even further - to the Babylonian-Sumerian culture.

Aliyev noted that he is currently working on a new book dedicated to Nizami Ganjavi, which is almost completed.

The event lasted with mugham performed by students of the People's Artist Mansum Ibrahimov and associate of CSL Saddam Aliyev.
