Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography will launch the registration of archaeological monuments of Azerbaijan (Arch Atlas) which is investigated or to be investigated in future by means of information-communication technologies.

This work will be involved “Application of information technologies in archeology” sector of the institute. Inventory of archaeological monuments, determination of borders, prepare the documentation and maps issues will be carried out by the sector.

Note that, Geographic Information System to be used for the first time during archaeological researches carried out in this work.

Creation of Arch Atlas will be carried out pursuant to President Ilham Aliyev’s Order dated December 27, 2013 “State Program on Restoration, preservation of the real estate historical and cultural monuments, development of functioning of the historical and cultural reserves in 2014 -2020 years”.
