Organization of War veterans, Labor and Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held presentation of the 15th volume of the “Books of Memory of the Azerbaijan Republic” on March 9.

The Vice-Chairman of the Republican organization of veterans, the colonel in an inventory Jahleel Khalilov noted that they started preparation of "The book of memory" since the Soviet period.

"Important steps in connection with preparation of "The book of memory of the Azerbaijan Republic" were taken after return to the power of the national leader Heydar Aliyev", - J.Halilov emphasized and noted that, with signing by the great leader of the Law "About Perpetuating of Memory of the Dead for the Homeland" process of the edition of this book accelerated. As a result of it, the first volume of "The republican book of memory" the same year was published. Thanks to high attention and care of the President Ilham Aliyev of studying and promotion of national history and culture 15 volumes "Memorial Book of the Azerbaijan Republic" were issued.

It was noted that, brief curriculum vitae about our compatriots who have offered the life for the sake of the Homeland are presented in the edition. Information about about 20 thousand compatriots whose surnames begin with the letters "U", "Ü", "V" is reflected in the 15th volume. The book is devoted to light memory of sons and daughters, dead and missing persons during World War II, fight for territorial integrity and independence of our country, the tragedy on January 20, Hodzhalinsky genocide, the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts, fight for national independence.

At the event, Rasim Mirzoyev, executive officer of the Department of Presidential and Political Affairs of the Presidential Administration, Academician Ziyad Samadzadeh, chairman of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov, chairman of the Yasamal District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party Taghi Ahmadov, editor-in-chief of the Republican Book of Memory Nazaket Mamedova and others in their speeches told The importance of the Republic Book of Memory, the perpetuation of the memory of our compatriots who fought in wars, the role of the Azerbaijani people and Baku oil in the victory over fascism, the attention and concern of the national leader Heydar Aliyev about the participants in the Great Patriotic War.

Speakers noted the importance of this book in informing our people, youth and the world community, as well as in the search for citizens of their loved ones, dead and missing in the war.
