Academician Ibrahim Guliyev: "Azerbaijan made an important contribution to world science and culture"

Russian State University of Oil and Gas hosted the International Conference on "Traditions of Cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan in the Sphere of Oil and Gas Education, Science and Industry, History and Prospects" on March 6.

Having acted, ANAS Vice-President, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev told about historical links of Russia and Azerbaijan throughout 2 centuries and a role of this country in development of the Azerbaijani culture and education. He expressed confidence in successful development further of cooperation between two countries in various spheres. In the performance the scientist noted that, Azerbaijan is a part of a human civilization: "Azerbaijan which passed a long and difficult historical way made an important contribution to development of world science and culture. Throughout centuries it had invaluable merits in cultural development of the people of the East".

Further, ANAS Vice-President informed informed the participants of the conference about the life and work of outstanding personalities who had great merit in the development of Azerbaijani science, culture and history: Topchubashov, Mirza Kazim Bey, Abbaskulu Agi Bakikhanov, Yusif Mammadaliyev and others. He also said that, in the 20th century Azerbaijan has turned into an international space where foreign scientists who have achieved great successes have acted, and also brought to attention important moments regarding their activities.

I.Guliyev emphasized the role of Azerbaijani scientists in the development of nuclear science in Russia and said that at the present time, while carrying out successful activities there, numerous domestic specialists have achieved important results.
