100 years have passed since the day of writing the work "The Abyss" by the outstanding Azerbaijani poet and playwright Huseyn Javid

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the creation of the work "The Abyss" (1917) by the great Azerbaijani thinker, the founder of the national poetic drama Huseyn Javid. In connection with this, an event took place in the House-Museum of Huseyn Javid of ANAS.

Gulbeniz Babakhanli, the director of the museum, Doctor of philological sciences, delivered a scientific report on the topic "Artificial Europeanization in the artistic and philosophical heritage of Huseyn Javid and the problem of the influence of foreign elements on the national morality.” Noting that the word "abyss" has a symbolic meaning, G. Babakhanli said that this word expresses a distance from its roots, culture, falling under the influence of another culture and morality.

Then the report of the scientific employee of the museum Ayten Babayeva "Tragedy" abyss - 100 (literary and historical chronicle) was listened.

As part of the event, an exhibition of exhibits related to the work "The Abyss" was also organized.
