Event on “Huseyn Javid’s troubles during March genocide in Baku” held

ANAS Huseyn Javid’s House Museum has held a commemorative event on “Huseyn Javid’s troubles during March genocide in Baku” devoted to 31 March – Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis.

The event has begun with a minute of silence for memory of genocide victims.

Then museum director, Dr. Philology Gulbeniz Babakhanli made speech on crimes committed by Bolshevik-dashnak groups in 1918, and their estimation by national leader Heydar Aliyev from legal viewpoint. During these events, one of those who faced with death was genius dramatist Huseyn Javid: “Armenian executioners withdrawn Huseyn Javid and 70 people joint with him from hotel "Tabriz" by force of arms then killed 60 of them along the way. Huseyn Javid was one of 10 people, who had escaped the jaws of death by accident”, she said.

At the end of her speech she stated that, as a result of bolshevik’s shooting of publisher “Achig soz”, Huseyn Javid’s books were burnt and one of masterpieces of poet “Iblis” (Devil) had penned under these impressions.
