"The Phenomenon of Agamusa Akhundova in Linguistics" book was published by the head of the Department of Terminology of ANAS Institute of Linguistics after Nasimi, Doctor of Philology, Professor Sayala Sadikhova.

The book is devoted to the rich scientific creativity and meaningful way of life of the full member of ANAS, Honored Worker of Science, State Prize laureate, Doctor of Philology, Professor Agamusa Akhundov.

Academician A.Akhundov is the author of the works "Language and Style Issues", "Verb tenses", "Introduction to Linguistics", "General Linguistics", "Mathematical Linguistics", "Phonetics of the Azerbaijani Language", "History, Theory and Methods of Linguistics" "Language and Literature" (in 2 volumes), "Explanatory Dictionary of the Azerbaijani Language", as well as a number of monographs and about 500 scientific articles. These works are devoted to the actual problems of the history of the language, the modern structure of the language, theory of language, general linguistics.

The works of A.Akhundov, devoted to the most important problems of linguistics - phonetics, artistic translation, spelling, speech culture, general linguistics, as well as the frequently given interviews about the state language are highly appreciated not only in our country, but also abroad. The author's works on phonetics, grammar, literary language, language poetry, speech culture, etymology, onomastics, general linguistics, and linguistic theory are considered the gold fund of domestic linguistics.

The scientist was in the center of attention due to his multifaceted activity devoted to various spheres of the Azerbaijan linguistics, innovative researches and new concepts introduced in the Azerbaijan linguistics. Despite the fact that his thesis "The tenses of the verb in the Azerbaijani language" and his further studies brought him great success, his work "The Phenomenal System of the Azerbaijani Language" is considered a masterpiece of his work. For the first time A.Akhundov on the basis of experimental analysis is generalized and at the theoretical level the phonetic system of the Azerbaijani language is presented. He became famous as an author of significant scientific works and research, leaving a rich creative heritage in the field of theoretical linguistics, phonetics, grammar, etymology, language history, dialectology, style and culture of speech.
