Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

At the General Meeting dedicated to the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences for 2016 presented Nominal Awards of ANAS after outstanding scientists.

At the event it was noted that, the competition for receiving nominal premiums of ANAS was announced in accordance the resolution of the Presidium dated February 15, 2017; Representations of scientists participating in the competition, and relevant documents were submitted by the Expert Commission.

The relevant comments prepared by the commission on nominal for awards of ANAS were presented to the Presidium. At the last meeting of the Presidium, the results of the competition were taken into account and a resolution was adopted on rewarding scientists with the aforementioned prizes.

So, for scientific achievements obtained in the field of studying the physical properties of layered crystals and their application in lasers, Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences Kerim Allahverdiyev was awarded the ANAS after Nasreddin Tusi, for fundamental research in the field of classification, assessment and protection of soils in Azerbaijan and the publication of a series of monographs reflecting the results, Academician Maharram Babayev - ANAS Hassan-bey Zardabi Award, for important achievements in the field of studying the history and theory of professional musical art of Azerbaijan, Propaganda of the heritage of the genius Azerbaijani composer and musicologist Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Professor Tofik Bakikhanov - the prize of ANAS after Academician Uzeir Hajibeyli, for his contribution to the development Fundamental and clinical research in the field of diagnostics and treatment of diseases created by deep mycoses, high achievements in the training of relevant scientific personnel correspondent member of ANAS Zakir Garayev - ANAS after Academician Mirasadulla Mirkasimov.

For fundamental research and obtained applied results in the field of organic compounds with different functional properties, and high quality additives academician Vagif Farzaliyev was awarded the prize of ANAS, Academician Yusif Mamedaliyev for his contribution to the development of basic research in the field of geological science in Azerbaijan and training of highly skilled personnel academician Vasif Babazadeh - award of ANAS Academician Musa Aliyev for important scientific results obtained in the field of research the history of centuries-old traditions of statehood in Azerbaijan (based on the numismatic heritage), doctor of historical sciences Ali Racabli - Award of ANAS after Abbas Guli Aga Bakikhanov.
