The delegation headed by the vice-president of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev took part in the meeting of the Eastern Partnership Council of the European Organization for Research in Tiflis State University named after Ivan Yavakhshvili.

The delegation included Academician-Secretary of the Department of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Physics, corresponding member of ANAS Nazim Mammadov, Director of the Institute of Physiology, Doctor of Biological Sciences. Ulduz Hashimova, Head of International Relations Office of the Presidium of ANAS, PhD in Biology Esmira Alirzayeva and a leading researcher of the Department of Geoecology of Oil and Gas Industry Rauf Nadirov.

The meeting discussed the results of the 10-year activity of the European Research Council, which supports the research of leading European scientists, and the work done by the Eastern Partnership countries within the framework of the HORIZON-2020 program over the years.

The event was given information on new ESI programs intended for 2017-2020. The report of Ulduz Hashimova on the work done in Azerbaijan within the framework of the "HORIZON-2020" program in 2014-2016, as well as the activities and prospects of the network of national coordinators was heard.

Within the framework of the event, the delegation of ANAS discussed prospects of cooperation with the ESI and representatives of the Eastern Partnership countries.
