In Sheki, the VIII International Music Festival "Silk Road" began its work.

The festival is held with the joint organizational support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan and the executive power of Sheki. Dance and music groups and performers of Turkey, Japan, Poland, Hungary, Iran and Georgia, as well as well-known musical groups of our country take part in the event.

At the opening ceremony of the festival, the chairman of the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan, UNESCO for Peace and correspondent member of ANAS Firangiz Alizadeh said that, the concerts to be held within the framework of the festival will be held in historical places and in front of architectural monuments of Sheki. It was noted that the festival will widely promote the architecture, history, art and folklore of Sheki.

Then, the head of Sheki city executive power Elkhan Usubov noted that in our country great attention is paid to the preservation of cultural heritage, propaganda of the rich culture of our people.

Then, the artistic part of the festival was presented.

Note that, the festival will end on July 1.
