ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography by the organizational support of the Azerbaijan-Korea Association of Cultural Exchange SEBA (Seoul-Baku) and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Azerbaijan held the International Scientific Seminar on "Archeology of Gabala".

At the opening ceremony of the international event, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan Kim Chang-gyu, chairman of the SEBA (Seoul-Baku) Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association Ruhangiz Heydarova, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nazim Samedov, Director of ANAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography Maisa Rahimova, Teymur Bunyadov, head of archeological expedition "Gabala", correspondent member of ANAS Ilyas Babayev, Director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, Academician Naila Velikhanli.

Speakers emphasized the activity of the Azerbaijani-Korean archeological expedition Gabala as an example of cooperation between the two countries in the field of science. It was reported that, the Azerbaijani-Korean archaeological expedition started its activities on the initiative, with the financial and organizational support of the Azerbaijan-Korea Association of Cultural Exchange SEBA (Seoul-Baku).

Since, archaeological research has been carried out in three historical territories of Gabala, which was the capital of the state of Caucasian Albania and later a strategic city in the history of Azerbaijan and the East (IV century BC-XVIII century AD), as well as in suburban areas, dating back to the period of Paleolithic, Eneolithic and Early Bronze.

It was reported, archaeological research in Gabala is conducted by the staff of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS and a team consisting of specialists from several scientific centers of Korea. Samples of culture material found during excavations are demonstrated in the exhibition hall of the Archaeological Center in the village of Chukhur Gabala.

At the seminar, archaeologists from Azerbaijan and Korea reported on the results of research conducted on the territory of the Gabala ancient.

During the international event, along with scientific reports, were listened annual reports on the results obtained during the archaeological expeditions held in Gabala together with the archaeologists of Azerbaijan and Korea under the guidance of corresponding member of ANAS Ilyas Babayev. Then was presented "Founds" bulk and "Gabala - the capital of the Caucasian Albania" movie.

The participants of the event also got acquainted with archaeological excavations conducted in the territory Antik, Selbir and Gala of the ancient Gabala city, as well as photos exhibition and artifacts.
