The textbook prepared according to the program "History of Azerbaijani Literature" and was compiled for students of the philology faculty of universities.
ANAS Central Scientific Library held the presentation of the reissued book "Azerbaijan literature of the XIX century" by the prominent scientist-literary critic, Honored Scientist, Academician Feyzulla Gasimzadeh on October 24.
Opening the event, ANAS Vice-President, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the substantial life path and scientific and pedagogical activity of the prominent scientist. He said that, F.Gasimzadeh was considered the teacher of most of the Azerbaijani intelligentsia and was the author of numerous textbooks. Under the guidance of a scientist, who for many years was the head of the Department of History of the Baku State University, 30 doctors of science and 120 PhDs were trained. He was awarded several authoritative medals and orders of the USSR.
Vice-president of ANAS also noted that, that a prominent literary scholar had high human qualities. He was brought to attention that, F. Hasymzadeh was engaged in effective activity in the field of literary criticism.
Further, Isa Habibbayli spoke about the book "Azerbaijan literature of the XIX century". He noted that, the textbook published in 1974 is a handbook for students and teachers of higher educational institutions for more than 40 years. The other day this book was refined and republished by Professor of the Department of the History of Azerbaijani Literature of BSU Yegana Ismayilova.
A new publication in the chapters "Azerbaijan literature of the first half of the XIX century - 1930-1940", "Azerbaijan literature of the 1950s-1960s" and "Azerbaijan literature of the 1970-1990s" were widely researched. Individual essays on outstanding writers A.Bakikhanov, M.F.Akhundzadeh, S.A. Shirvani, M.Sh.Vazah, G.Zakir, A.Nabati were reflected in the book.
Then, Director of the Central Scientific Library, Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine Leyla Imanova spoke about the importance of preserving the rich scientific heritage of scientists and thinkers who distinguished themselves with invaluable services in the Azerbaijani science. She particularly emphasized the importance of reprinting and submitting to the library of F. Hasimzadeh's book "Azerbaijan literature of the XIX century". She said that, the textbook by F.Gasimzadeh enriching our national memory will become a valuable source for students and teachers of higher educational institutions.
L.Imanova noted that, the book is included in the database of the National Digital Memory of the CNB.
Professor Yegana Ismayilova, who made great efforts in re-publishing the book, noted the importance of producing unique of textbook which is containing rich information.
Then, was demonstrated a video in which the student of the late scientist, Academician Vasim Mammadaliyev shares his thoughts on his teacher.
Then, head of the chair of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Professor Himalaya Gasimov, noted that, the prominent scientist, Academician F. Hasimzadeh has exceptional merits in the scientific study of the history of Azerbaijani literature and its propaganda.
It was brought to the attention that, the textbook "Azerbaijan literature of the XIX century", which is the result of hard work and scientific research of the scientist, appears as a valuable and indispensable scientific source from the point of view of literature studies of that period and analysis of literary and artistic thought.
At the event, the scientific editor of the book, Professor Tofig Huseynov, Academician Nizami Jafarov, head of the department of the Literature Institute after Nizami, Professor Asif Rustamli and others spoke about the life and work of the scientist and the scientific significance of the new book.
In conclusion, daughter of the deceased, associate professor of the world literature department of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University Nigar Gasimzadeh, expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event for the memory and deep respect for her father on behalf of the family.
