Shamakhi Cultural Center and Gabala Archeological Center, ANAS Institute of Geography held Hasan Academician Aliyev’s 110th anniversary, the prominent scientist, political figure and statesman of the State Prize laureate.

At first, executive chief the Shamakhi district Asif Agayev and the deputy head of the executive power Atay Osmanov told about the exceptional merits of the prominent scientist, Academician Hasan Aliyev in the formation of various soil sciences and geography sectors in Azerbaijan and the definition of the current appearance of a number of new scientific trends.

Director of ANAS Institute of Geography, Academician Ramiz Mammadov spoke about the scientist's invaluable merits in the protection of nature of Azerbaijan. It was noted that his scientific work encompassed the theory of soil science, nature protection, ecology, botany, plant growing, problems of protection and effective use of natural resources, various directions of natural science.

The scientist informed that, on February 7, President Ilham Aliyev signed the decree on "Conducting the 110th anniversary of Academician Hasan Aliyev". In order to ensure the worthy holding of the 110th anniversary of the prominent scientist, skillful organizer of science and well-known public figure Hasan Aliyev who made a valuable contribution to the Azerbaijani science, ANAS Geography Institute prepared an action plan according to which this scientific institution will hold conferences, exhibitions, meetings during the year and seminars.

Speaking at the event, head of the Department of Ecogeography of the Institute, PhD. in Agrarian Sciences Anvar Aliyev, Head of the Department of Geography of Soil Resources of Azerbaijan, PhD in Agrarian Sciences Ismail Guliyev, a post-graduate student of the scientist, an employee of the Soil Geography Department, Ph.D. in Agricultural sciences Tahira Salmanova, Committee of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Geography Habil Hagverdiyev and others noted that, Academician Hasan Aliyev’s activities on the protection and enrichment of nature of Azerbaijan is a real example for future generations. The speakers expressed their confidence that today's event will play an important role in studying and propagating the scientific heritage and the school of Academician Hasan Aliyev, shared their memories about the scientist.
