Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

House of Riga Latvian Society held a ceremony devoted to the co-chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Latvia's former President Vaira Vike Freiberga's 80th anniversary held.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Latvia Javanshir Akhundov, representatives of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, Rovshan Muradov and Rza Aliyev, prominent public and political figures and statesmen of Latvia.

Ambassador J.Akhundov congratulated Vaira Vike-Freiberga on her 80th anniversary, which is celebrated on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the national statehood of Latvia. The ambassador read out a congratulatory letter from the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed to the jubilee.

In the congratulatory letter, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stressed the important role of V.V. Freiberga and the national leader Heydar Aliyev in deepening and developing bilateral relations between our countries. Noted the undeniable role of V.V.Freiberga as the co-chairman of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center in turning the Center into an authoritative public organization, strengthening ties with the political elite of various countries and international structures.

President Ilham Aliyev wished the jubilee good health, successes.

At the ceremony, also were read out letters by the members of the International Center Nizami Ganjavi - the President of Macedonia Gerga Ivanov, the President of Montenegro Philip Vujanovic, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanic, the Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat.
