Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The Central Scientific Library of ANAS hosted a conference on "Scientific Foundations of Azerbaijan model of Islamic solidarity".

Vice-President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli recalled that 2017 was proclaimed "Year of Islamic Solidarity" in Azerbaijan and spoke about the work done in this direction in the Academy.Academician I.Habibbeyli said that Islamic solidarity contributes to the expansion of economic and cultural relations among the Muslim countries. President Ilham Aliyev's initiative on solidarity with Islamic countries is supported by Muslim countries, the scientist underlined.The third secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in our country, Mrs. Enas Abdul Kadhim Mohammed Al-Khazraji highly appreciated the work done in Azerbaijan on Islamic solidarity, as well as projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.Azerbaijan has special sensitivity to different religions and sects, as a tolerant country. Great leader Heydar Aliyev, the root of his influence on the Muslim leaders of the world was his great policy and it currently successfully pursues by the head of state, Professor Izzet Rustamov stated.The conference was followed by lectures on "How to approach Multidimensional Unity: Differences Between Islam Schools", "Islamic World and Modern Challenges", "The role of Azerbaijani thinkers in the formation of Islamic thought", "Islamic Solidarity problems and ways of its solution" .

Leyla Imanova, director of the CSL, PhD in Medicine, said the conference, organized by the Library, contributed to the "Islamic Solidarity Year".
