Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

"Spelling Dictionary of the Azerbaijani Language" by the Translation Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan was published.

The dictionary is made not by the principle of vocabulary, but by the principle of correct selection of native Azerbaijani words, as well as borrowed words used in the Azerbaijani language, and terms.

Distinctive features of the "Spelling Dictionary of the Azerbaijani Language": a single spelling of the words, terms, and also the defective words presented in the previous spelling dictionaries in two or three variants is reflected, with the aim of reintroducing, correct understanding and use of obsolete ones, but retaining their own meaning in various branches of words, as well as single-root words given their detailed interpretation.

The edition also includes more than a thousand native Azerbaijani words that were not reflected in previous dictionaries, as well as terms in the field of science, sports, culture, politics, etc.

The author of the book is the director of the center Afag Masud, the editor is corresponding member of ANAS Nizami Jafarov.
