Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic explores drinking, mineral and irrigation water

Employees of the Laboratory of Hydrogeology and Mineral Waters of the Institute of Natural Resources  of ANAS Nakhchivan Devision carry out research work related to the suitability and rational use of drinking, mineral and irrigation water sources located in different geographically parts of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The chemical composition, degree of mineralization, rigidity and pH of water samples taken last year in the territory of the Babek district were studied.

The number of sodium and potassium ions, magnesium, chloride, hydrogen carbonates and sulfate has been established, and in several waters of nitrate ions. The suitability of the waters of the Bulgan Canal and the Cheshmebasar collector for irrigation was estimated by the Steebler irrigation coefficient, and as a result, a positive result was achieved.

According to international standards, the water composition was analyzed by Kurlov's formula.

As a result of a comparative analysis of the physico-chemical properties of water samples studied in the Babek region, a correlation was found between the amount of mineral water components, depending on the height.
