ANAS main building held the next meeting of Council of Veterans.

The event was attended by the chairmen of the councils of veterans of scientific institutions and organizations of the academy, as well as the deputy chairman of the Council of Veterans Eldar Guliev.

Reminding of the early presidential elections in Azerbaijan on April 11, E.Guliyev stressed the importance of veterans' participation in the elections. He noted that, today, as a result of the successful domestic and foreign policy, as well as the economic reforms of the head of state, Azerbaijan is one of the most advanced states in the world. He said that the people's unity with the leader is ensured in the country and the candidature of the successor of the great leader Heydar Aliyev-Ilham Aliyev will be supported in the elections.

Next, chairman of the Council of Veterans, correspondent member of ANAS, Rafig Gasimov, speaking about the meeting held at the academy in connection with the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, said that our scientists unanimously supported the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev. R.Gasimov stressed that, in our country there have been great successes in the political, economic, scientific and cultural spheres, stability and peace are ensured. The scientist noted that, at present Azerbaijan is expanding its relations with the United States, Russia and European countries, and this success is based on the purposeful policy of Ilham Aliyev.

He instructed the chairmen of the councils to conduct instructive conversations with young employees of scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS, instill in them a patriotic spirit, and encourage young people to actively participate in the presidential elections.

It was decided to unanimously support the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev for the presidential elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The next issue on the agenda of the meeting was the improvement of the social conditions of veterans working in scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS, granting those benefits and payment of benefits, as well as sending them to medical institutions.

Speaking on the topic, Eldar Guliyev said that, on the basis of directions of scientific institutions and organizations, a list of veterans is being prepared, which will be assisted. He noted that 50 veterans from 25 scientific institutions and organizations will be paid a one-time allowance, 39 veterans from 19 scientific institutions and organizations will receive a food allowance, and 34 veterans from 18 scientific institutions and organizations will be sent to medical institutions.

It was also noted at the meeting that this year elections will be held in the councils of veterans of scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS, and in May - in the Joint Council of Veterans.

In conclusion, at the meeting were discussed a number of current issues.
