Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi held presentation of the book "Gazal of Azerbaijan" by the famous literary critic, Doctor of Philology Vagif Yusifli on May 4.

At the event, Vice-President of ANAS, director of the institute, academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that, Vagif Yusifli successfully continues the work of our classics in the field of literary criticism. Stressed that, the scientific and literary community of Azerbaijan accepts Vagif Yusifli as one of the outstanding figures of contemporary literary criticism. His book "Gazal of Azerbaijan" is of great importance from the point of view of studying the history of the development of Azerbaijan's Gazal.

It was emphasized that, the book "Gazal of Azerbaijan" is of great importance as the first fundamental scientific research devoted to the history and poetics of the gazelle genre in the domestic literary criticism of the period of independence. The book focuses on the study of origin, stages of development and creators of the gazelle genre.

At the event, Elnara Akimova, a leading researcher of the Department of Literary Criticism of the Institute, Doctor of Philology, delivered a report on "The Image of Vagif Yusifli in Literary Criticism of Azerbaijan".

Further, reported doctor of philology, Professor Gazanfar Pashayev, the editor-in-chief of the journal "Azerbaijan" Intigam Gasimzadeh, doctor of philology Alizade Askerli, doctor of philological sciences, Professor Zaman Askerli, poet Ogtay Rza, Sayad Aran, doctor of philology, Professor Vugar Ahmad.
