Scientific-practical seminar on "Advanced cultivation technologies of tea, paddy and citrus" was held jointly by ANAS Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Lankaran Regional Science Center, Astara Region Executive Power and District Agriculture Department.
Speaking at the event held at the Agriculture Department of Astara region, head of the executive power of the region, Gazanfar Agayev, spoke about the state policy on the development of agrarian sector in our country.
It was noted that in 2017, the region harvested 1,800 tons of products from 447 hectares of paddy. 476 tons of green tea leaves were collected from 197 hectares of productive tea plantations and handed over to tea processing enterprises. Over the last two years, the area of new citrus and subtropical gardens has increased by 40 percent.
Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev, director of Lankaran Regional Science Center of ANAS, Professor Farman Guliyev, Professor Pasha Zamanov, Head of Organic Fertilizers Laboratory of Soil Science and Agrochemistry Institute, leading researcher, A.Alizade gave detailed information to farmers and entrepreneurs on the role of science in the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan, the efficiency of use of organic fertilizers in tea-making and pheasantery in Lankaran-Astara zone, efficient use of land based on modern technologies, rules of using new technology in pheasantery.
