Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

A seminar was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS with the participation of pupils and teachers of Secondary School # 1 of Jeyranbatan settlement of Absheron district.

The seminar was opened by the director of the institute, correspondent member of ANAS Oktay Samadov. He informed the students about problems of radiation and nuclear safety, radioecology, peaceful use of nuclear energy, as well as about the history, activity and scientific research directions of the enterprise.

Then Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics-Mathematics Ravan Mehdiyeva spoke about the achievements of IRP and the external relations of the organization.

Scientific researcher of the Institute, PhD in physics Muslum Mammadov delivered a presentation on radiation, its dangerous moments, adverse effects and consequences.

Later, the students’ questions were answered.

At the end, the guests got acquainted with the enterprise's laboratories.
