Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

International Scientific Conference titled " Magtymguly Pyragy - spiritual healer of the human soul" was held at ANAS Central Scientific Library  by the support of the Turkmen Embassy in Baku on June 25.

Delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Director of the National Institute of Manuscripts of the Turkmenistan Academy of Sciences Davud Orazsahedov , heads of diplomatic missions, international organizations, and representatives of the scientific intelligentsia, prominent public figures, students and other connoisseurs of the great Turkmen poet, thinker Magtymguly Pyragy attended the conference.

Within the framework of the event, was organized an exhibition and presentation of the literary works of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov, books on the works by Magtymguly Pyragy and bulks of works of Turkmen classic, as well as printed publications, describing the achievements of Turkmenistan during the years of independence. Some of these books were donated to ANAS Central Scientific Library.

At the event were listened papers by the leaders and leading scientists of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and ANAS, as well as specially invited guests. The President of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, Makzum Salahov took part at the International Scientific Conference as an honorary guest.

At the beginning of the conference, ANAS Vice-President Isa Habibbeyli addressed the participants and guests of the event, spoke in detail about the works of the Turkmen classic Magtymguly Pyragy, which were included in the treasury of world literature.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan Mekan Ishankuliyev noted in his speech that, the thoughts and aspirations of Magtymguly Pyragy, about a single, powerful and indestructible Turkmen state, today, in the era of the true heyday of an independent and neutral Turkmenistan, have come true. Mekan Ishankuliyev also spoke about the relations between fraternal Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, which have a positive development trend and are characterized by steady progress. It was noted that thanks to the hard work and efforts of our fraternal peoples, as well as the titanic efforts of our heads of state, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan achieved great success.

Director of the Turkmenistan National Institute of Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences, Davud Orazsahedov, spoke about Turkmen literature and the great role of Magtymguly Pyragy in the formation of the unique national identity of the Turkmen people.

Further, was held presentation of a new book by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdimuhamadov "Adoration of the Mother - worship before the shrine". Deputy Director of the Institute of Language and Literature after Magtymguly Pyragy of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Kh. Durdiev noted that, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdimuhamadov in his book "Adoration of the Mother - worship before the shrine" tells about the life course of his mother Ogulabat eje, which is a vivid example of adherence to the original spiritual, moral and family values of the Turkmen people.

President of the International Fund for Turkic Culture and Heritage Gunay Efendiyeva, the former Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkmenistan Vahdat Sultanzadeh, the researcher of the Institute of Literature after Nizami of ANAS Ismikhan Osmanli and others reported at the conference.
