Head of the Hungarian National Health Institute, Professor Geza Safrani delivered a scientific report on "Gene therapy of tumors" at the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry of ANAS.

The event, organized by the Institutes of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, Biophysics  and Radiation Problems, was held within the framework of the project of the Ukrainian Center of Science Technology on "Research of synthesis and radiopharmaceutical properties of some biogenous metals in tryptophan".

Gene therapy in tumor diseases, especially brain tumors, is the result of research on mice, the scientist underlined.

As a result of research carried out by the scientist, ferment-directed gene therapy acts as an anti-cancer agent and is more effective when gene therapy is combined with the local tumor irradiation.
