Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

At the Institute of Genetic Resources held a meeting with the Director General of the Agrarian Science and Information Center of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, PhD in Agrarian Sciences Vugar Babayev and Deputy Director of ANAS High Technologies Park Elkhan Bayramov.

The meeting discussed cooperation between the institutes of the Biological and Medical Sciences Department of the ANAS and the Ministry of Agriculture and opportunities for expanding relations. They also exchanged views on the implementation of the Agrarian Science Development Strategy project submitted to the Ministry by the Institute of Genetic Resources.

It was noted that institutes of ANAS can play an important role in elimination of the shortage of specialists in agrarian sphere. From this point of view, it is necessary to strengthen the relationship between the academic staff, capacity building, organization of joint conferences, coordination of research and other priority areas.

It was decided to appoint a coordinator from each of the three institutions for ensuring the food security of the population, development of the agrarian sector on scientific basis, establishing contacts with farmers, direct contact with the farmer, conducting regular scientific monitoring and etc.
