The presentation of the "Shorsu" medical mud was held at the Applied Chemistry Laboratory of the Institute of Natural Resources of Nakhchivan Division of ANAS.

The event was opened by the chairman of the department, academician Ismayil Hajiyev and informed about the necessity, structure and activity of the scientific institution and the importance of the research conducted here. He noted that our native Nakhchivan is rich in underground and surface resources and it is important to study these wealth in order to use them efficiently.

Thanks to the attention and care shown by the chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the opportunities for scientific research have been expanded and the results are achieved, Academician noted. He underlined that implementation of researches in Laboratory of Natural Resources and Bioresources Institute of the division has been carried out in recent years. He noted that the tasks arising from the relevant assignment of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly on preparation of the Shorsu healing mud have been fulfilled.

Then, Niyazi Novruzov, Health Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, spoke about the therapeutic significance of the “Shorsu” mud. He noted that the mud used primarily by our population was now packaged in the Nakhchivan Branch Laboratory after checking for special hygienic procedures for the use of various diseases. Mud can be used for the treatment of 17 rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, deformations, myositis, bursitis, stroke residue, neuritis, neuralgia, prostatitis and other diseases.

Then the senior scientific researcher of the Mineral Resources Chemistry and Technology Laboratory of the Institute of Natural Resources, PhD on Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Ahmed Garayev spoke about the process of preparation and treatment of "Shorsu" mud with magnesium, sodium, calcium, iron oxide in laboratory conditions.
