Works on the Irevan Khanate published in Armenian and Persian languages

ANAS Institute of History presented four brochures on the history of the Irevan Khanate in Armenian and Persian. The presentation was organized jointly by the Institute of History of ANAS and the Public Association "Historians of Azerbaijan".

Like the work "The Irevan Khanate: Russian Conquest and the Relocation of Armenians to the Land of Northern Azerbaijan" and other fundamental researches, these brochures were also written on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev. The brochures were published by the Public Association "Historians of Azerbaijan" in the framework of the project "The publication of four brochures on the history of the Irevan Khanate", funded by the Council of State Support of Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The project manager and scientific editor of publications is the director of the Institute of History, academician Yagub Mahmudov, technical editor - Mehri Khanbabaeva. These works were published by the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute of History.

The author of the brochures "The Irevan Khanate: Khan's Palace, destroyed by Armenian vandals" and "The Mosques of Irevan, destroyed by Armenian vandals" is the scientist-historian Nazim Mustafa, "Irevan khanate: Irevan fortress - heroic fortress" and "Chukhursed rulers and Irevan khans" historian Güntekin Najafli.

Academician Yagub Mahmudov noted that, a new publications are a serious statement to the Armenians: "Armenians are not the indigenous inhabitants of not only the South Caucasus, but also of Asia in general. The Turkic traveler Evliya Celebi in his "Book of Travel" and the French traveler Jean Chardin in his work "The Journey from Paris to Isfahan", who visited the Irevan region of Azerbaijan in the seventeenth century of the seventeenth century, including in Irevan, noted that by an absolute majority The inhabitants of these lands are Azerbaijani Turks. The primary sources, including the Armenian ones, confirm that the Armenian population did not live in the city of Irevan, "said Academician Yagub Mahmudov. The scientist noted that many of the events described in the heroic epic of the Azerbaijani and other Turkic peoples "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" occur precisely in the territory of the Irevan Khanate. The resettled Armenians destroyed more than 300 mosques, many minarets, cemeteries to expel the local Turkic-Muslim population. Vandals, first of all, destroyed ancient mosques in Yerevan.

In the pamphlet "The Mosques of Irevan, destroyed by Armenian vandals" it is noted that in the pictures of 1920-1930 Armenian artists Martiros Saryan, Setrak Arakelyan, Anush Saginyan and Gabriel Gurjan, "Blue Mosque" is shown as a symbol of the city of Irevan. At present, the Armenian officials of foreign guests "The Blue Mosque" are presented as "Persian Mosque".

At the event, it was stated that Armenian vandals built a brandy factory in the place of the destroyed Khan Palace (Sardar's Palace) in the Irevan fortress. Note that the Khan Palace in 1578 was built by the decree of Irevan's Beglarbek of the Safavi state of Tokhmak Khan.

The brochure "The Irevan Khanate: The Khan's Palace, destroyed by Armenian vandals" says that now officials of Irevan cannot show a single historical monument of Armenians to foreign guests more than 200 years old.

The brochure "The Irevan khanate: The Irevan fortress is a heroic fortress" is dedicated to the bright memory of the defenders of the Irevan fortress. Let's remind that the Irevan fortress was built in the beginning of the 16th century by the decree of the founder of the Safavid state of Azerbaijan Shah Ismail Khatai the first Safavid commander Revanguli khan.

In the work "Chuhursd rulers and Irevan khans" it is shown that the khans of Irevan were ruled by the representatives of the local Turkic tribes of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that, the brochures on the Irevan Khanate were published earlier in English and Russian. Currently, these brochures are being prepared for publication in Spanish and Arabic.
