The next meeting of Presidium of Nakhchivan Division of ANAS was held.

The event was opened by the chairman of the department, academician Ismayil Hajiyev informed about the announcement in the press for the replacement of the directors' places at scientific research institutions. He acquainted the participants of the event with the issues on the agenda.

I.Hajiyev spoke about the tasks arising from the speech of the Chairman of the Supreme Mejlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov at the opening ceremony of the Nakhchivan Salt Museum. The scientist spoke about the importance of the fundamental research of Duzdag, which has a direct impact on the formation of the city of Nakhchivan. In addition, it is said that the international conference planned for 2019 will be devoted to the theme "Nakhchivan: the original city and Duzdag".

At the meeting, head of the Department of Archeology of the Ancient and Medieval Period of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology, Doctor of Philosophy in History, Associate Professor Togrul Khalilov delivered a report on "Archaeological excavations around Gemigaya". He said that, the monuments around Gamigai have been studied systematically, and the material and cultural samples found during archaeological excavations have been scientifically analyzed and the cultural and economic relations of people living in the area have been studied. T.Khalilov also talked about ancient and medieval monuments built around Gamigaya.

Another issue raised in the agenda is related to the distribution of responsibilities among the members of the Bureau. This was said by the academic secretary of the department, Ph.D. in Philology Akram Huseynzadeh.

Then, head of the Education and Personnel Department, Filura Sadigova and the senior specialist of the Scientific and Organizational Department Rashad Zulfugarov reported on the results of the inspection conducted in scientific research institutions on September 3-4, 2018. Chief specialist of the Department of Affairs Abbasali Maksudov told about the work done in preparation for the autumn-winter season 2018-2019 and forthcoming tasks. Then, the issues on the agenda were discussed.
