Corresponding Member of ANAS Eldar Zeynalov is 70

Outstanding chemist, a well-known specialist in high molecular compounds and petrochemicals, head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, corresponding member of ANAS Eldar Zeynalov is 70 on October.

Eldar Bahadur oglu Zeynalov was born on October 8, 1948 in Baku. In 1971 he graduated from Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University).

In 1972-1976 he studied at the postgraduate course at the Institute of Chemical Physics at the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow and from 1976-1995 he worked at the Institute of Polymer Materials of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR.

He worked as director of the laboratory at the Institute of Petrochemical Processes of ANAS in 1995-2014 and since 2014 he has headed the Laboratory of Hydrogen Peroxide Oxidation in Nanocarbon Catalysts of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry. In addition, Eldar Zeynalov has headed the International Laboratory for Basic Research on the synthesis and use of catalysts based on nanocarbon materials from petrogenic caustobioliths since 2015.

The scientist received a Ph.D. in chemistry in 1976, a doctor of chemical sciences in 1989 and a professor in 2010. E.Zeynalov was elected as a correspondent of ANAS in 2017.

In results of scientific activity kinetic methods have for the first time determined activity of natural antioxidants as a part of the Azerbaijani oil and oil fractions and information databank of anti-oxidizing activity of oil systems on the Azerbaijani region is by results made. Concentrates of natural oil antioxidants have been used as effective stabilizers antioxidants for composite materials on the basis of the polyurethane, polyvinylchloride and chlorpolyethylene used for production of molding tires and roofing materials. Kinetic regularities of processes of oxidation of oil hydrocarbons of diesel fraction and some polyolefins are investigated.

For the first time in Azerbaijan in aerobic oxidizing processes of oil hydrocarbons and polymers carbon nano-structures have been applied and investigated in a kachesta of catalysts and anti-catalysts: C60 and C70 fullerenes, metal-containing one-wall and multiwall carbon nanotubes and nanofibres, funktsionalizirovanny carbon connections - (OH) of n-and (-NH) n-C60, a hydroxyl, Br-and TEMPO the containing carbon nanotubes.

Advanced processes of receiving synthetic oil acids and oxyacids are developed. Processes of receiving esters in the presence of nano-dioxides of the titan are in detail studied and on this basis modern, environmentally friendly and economically profitable process is offered.

The scientist is an author more than 360 scientific works, including 9 monographs and books, 15 author's patents and also 215 articles published in the leading foreign magazines.

He lectures at Baku State University and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University. Under his scientific leadership, 11 PhDs in Chemistry and 1 Doctor of Chemical Sciences were trained.

He was elected a corresponding member of the International Academy of Creativity in 1990 and a member of the American Chemical Society in 2009.

Congratulations to the outstanding scientist with his 70th anniversary, we wish him good health and success in life and work!

Eldar Zeynalov besides the scientific work is engaged in also pedagogical activity. He gives lectures at the Baku state university and the Azerbaijani state oil and industrial university. Under his scientific management 11 doctors of philosophy in chemistry and 1 Doctor of Chemistry are prepared.

He is elected the corresponding member of the International academy of creativity in 1990 and the member of the American chemical society in 2009.

We congratulate the outstanding scientist on 70th anniversary, we wish him good health and success in life and work!
