With the joint efforts of the scientists of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, the new edition of the catalog "Mud Volcanoes of Azerbaijan" has been prepared. This release provides information on the eruptions of 28 mud volcanoes recorded over the last 10 years. It is reported that 418 eruptions were recorded in the 93 mud volcanoes in the last 200 years.

The catalog includes the classification of mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan, their geological features, geochemistry of erosion products, characteristic description of eruptions and etc.

Note that smaller catalogue of volcanic eruptions in Azerbaijan were published in 1974. Catalog of about more mud volcanoes and their eruptions, including the 1810-2001, was published in 2002. The second edition of that catalog covering 1810-2007 was published in 2009.
