Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Every two years, the northern capital of Russia - St. Petersburg held a competition for the best composition for a symphony orchestra.

At this stage, works by six finalists selected from 107 were presented to the competition.

On October 5, 2018, in the Great Hall of the State Philharmonic after Shostakovich was held the final round of the Xll final round of the Xll Composer Competition after Petrov.

People's Artist, UNESCO’s "Peace Artist", Chairman of the Union of Composers, correspondent member of ANAS Firangiz Alizadeh is a head of jury of a prestigious contest in St.Petersburg for the third time, which includes such authoritative musicians as Alexander Knaifel, L.Desyatnikov, P.Karmanov, F.Lednev, N.Khrushchev, Dm.Yanov-Yanovsky.

After the final round of the concert chairman of the Jury Firangiz Alizadeh spoke. She noted the long-standing and strong creative ties of the composition schools of Russia and Azerbaijan, brightly and figuratively characterized works, wished the young composers new successes.

At the end of the evening, the names of the winners were announced and presented awards to the laureates of the competition.
