ANAS presented "Nagorno-Karabakh: History Read Through Sources" book

An Arabic version of "Nagorno-Karabakh: History Read Through Sources" book by head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev has been presented at the Central Scientific library of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), organized by ANAS  Institute of Philosophy on November 16.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice-President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi, academician Isa Habibbayli noted that, the book provides various historical sources explaining the causes of the conflict, as well as accurately showing the ownership of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan.

He noted that, the study, based on numerous sources from the period of antiquity and the middle Ages, documents of the new and modern period, covers the real history of the South Caucasus, as well as issues of the resettlement of Armenians to these territories at the beginning of the 19th century.

According to the academician, the book informs that, since the beginning of the 19th century Armenians began to constitute a numerical majority in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the current Republic of Armenia, which is a historical Azerbaijani territory, which was the result of a deliberate policy of the Royal Empire.

Isa Habibbayli said that, the book also talks about the policy of ethnic cleansing and the genocide of Armenia against Azerbaijanis. He stressed that, the publication in Arabic will play a main role in bringing to the world the realities associated with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the fight against Armenian lies.

Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev’s "Nagorno-Karabakh: History Read Through Sources" book has recently been published by the Delta Center for In-Depth Research in Beirut, Lebanon.

He noted that, this valuable work was translated into French, English, Turkish, Russian. The book was translated into Arabic by an Algerian researcher, Professor Zaim Hanishlavi.

"Nagorno-Karabakh: History Read Through Sources" was edited by the Arabists of ANAS Institutes of Literature and Philosophy. They informed me that, the translator made no mistakes in geographical names, facts” noted Vice-President of ANAS.

He expressed gratitude for the excellent translation to Zaim Hanishlavi, as well as to all who invested work in this work.

Vice-President of ANAS noted that, exceptional services in publishing the book and delivering it to our country belong to the Azerbaijani embassies in Lebanon and Algeria.

Director of ANAS Institute of Philosophy, Professor Mammadzada Ilham spoke about the translation process. He noted that, Professor Zaim Hanishlavi took part in the V Baku International Humanitarian Forum, met here with academician Ramiz Mehdiyev and asked him permission to translate and publish this book.

The event was also attended by corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Aliyev Bakhtiyar, chief editor of the newspaper “Yeni Azerbaijan”, Professor Hikmat Babaoglu, head of the Department of the Institute of Philosophy, Professor Mirzazadeh Rana, leading researcher at this institution Sanan Hasanov, head of the Department of Baku State University, Professor Izzat Rustamov and others.

In conclusion, Zaim Hanishlavi said that, this edition will play a special role in studying the realities of Nagorno-Karabakh in the Arab world.
