Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Parvana Garakhani, PhD in Biology chief of Herbarium laboratory of theInstitute of Botany, PhD student Arzu Huseynova and Naiba Mehdiyeva, leading scientific worker of Plant Resources department have discovered unlike specie during defining of herbarium materials collected from sub-alpine meadows in Jek and Galeykhudat districts of Guba. As a result of usage of the modern methods, was defined that new specie belongs to the Centauera type. This kind has been included into the science under the name of 

Centaurea emilae Huseynova et Garakhani.

In this regard, Botany journal of “Science” publishing-house in St. Petersburg (Russia) has published an article titled as “The new specie from Azerbaijan for Centaurea type”.
