Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Head of the Department of the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis of National Research Council of Italy Professor Luciano Telesca from November 26 to December 1 was on a working visit to the Institute of Geology and Geophysics.

The goal of the scientist's visit was to discuss the achievements and organize a scientific seminar on the project work for 2018-2019 "Study of the seismic effect and assessment of the seismic hazard of the Mingachevir reservoir (Azerbaijan)".

The seminar discussed the results of the scientific works of PhDs in Earth sciences Rafik Safarov, Sabina Kazimova and senior researcher Shirin Ismailova. The project leaders are Academic Secretary of ANAS Division of Earth Sciences, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov and Professor L.Telesca noted that, according to the analysis for 2018, new results were achieved when studying the seismic effects of the earthquake.

Scientists also discussed the publication of an article devoted to work in the vicinity of the Mingachevir reservoir, as well as Action Plan for 2019.
