Report meeting on the activities of the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) in 2018 has been held.

The event was opened by Academician Isa Habibbayli, vice-president of ANAS, who said that modern services were provided to the readers in the library and new valuable documents and collections were included in their funds. He said that various projects were implemented in the current year on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the National Azerbaijan Democratic Republic of and 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev. Important work has been done on the National Digital Memory (NDM) basis.

Later, CSL Director, PhD in medicine Leyla Imanova made a presentation and emphasized the recommendations made during the discussion of the 2017 report and spoke about the work done in 2018. He said that in the reporting year, the library implemented the decrees and orders of the President of the country, Cabinet of Ministers, state programs, as well as decisions and orders of ANAS.

In 2018 the electronic resource "Heydar Aliyev: electronic base and registry of documents" was prepared for readers on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the national leader's birth, L.Imanova noted.

L.Imanova informed about the fulfillment of the decrees of President Ilham Aliyev’s orer “On 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic”, the "Proclaiming 2018 as the year of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic", "On celebrating the 110th anniversary of Mikail Mushfig" and "Gara Garayev's 100th jubilee".

Noting that CSL's strategic goals are based on modern challenges, L.Imanova noted that protection of the copyrighted documents in the library and the use of readers was one of the topical issues in 2018. It was emphasized that with the support of the Science Development Fund the server memory optimal algorithm was developed.

The report also highlights the introduction of the CSL database to the operational level of registration, digitization and protection. At the same time, 221 documents issued by the embassies, including the scientific and cultural figures of Azerbaijan and bio-bibliographic indicators of the active members of ANAS, were added to the NDM database. L.Imanova said that the number of readers of the library have already increased to 5000 and have established partnerships with 250 organizations in more than 40 countries and talked about the future plans.

Problems such as professional staff flow, security, restoration and conservation of information, and coordination of information were also discussed at the reporting meeting.

At the end of the discussion, the report was discussed and the activity of the CSL in 2018 was highly appreciated.
