Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Central Scientific Library held an event entitled "Tracking author’s pathan" dedicated to well-known peoples of the Azerbaijan on February 21.

Within the project the 1st presentation was dedicated to ANAS academician Akif Alizadeh, prominent geologist, laureate of “Shohrat”, “Sharaf”, “Istiglal” orders.

The event was opened by ANAS Central Scientific Library Director, PhD in Medicine Leyla Imanova and said that, main strategic goals of the institution are information security and information management on Azerbaijan in the Internet space, and today's project is implemented within these areas.

L.Imanova said that, the system of the National Digital Database of Memory, the Integrated Management System was created by ANAS Central Scientific Library for the systematization of the scientific heritage of Azerbaijan and transmission to future generations, as well as the information on our country was regularly updated in the Wikipedia.

To fulfill certain goals, as well as to systematize the scientific heritage and pass it on to future generations, the National Digital Memory base and the Unified Management System software platform have been created by the Central Scientific Library, including information concerning our country in Wikipedia.

Speaking about the new project, Director noted that, in the 1st presentation, the books by the author, academician Akif Alizadeh, as well as publications devoted to him and his activities were technically processed, added to the electronic and traditional catalog, digitized. The page of ANAS President has been improved by volunteers of the Wikipedia Methodology Center.

Also, during the event, Director of the Institute of Architecture and Art, corresponding member of ANAS Salamzade Artegin and others, speaking on the importance of the project in the field of information security in our country.
