Khojaly genocide is one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century

Women's Council of the Institute of Zoology of ANAS hosted an event titled "Blood Memory of History" dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

An exhibition of Khojaly tragedy by Alovsat Gasimov, chairman of the International Association “Introducing  Karabakh Realities to the world” was demonstrated at the Central Scientific Library,.

The event started with a minute of silence to the memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide.

Director of the Institute, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Elman Yusifov spoke Khojaly genocide.

Looking at the history of genocide and deportations committed against Azerbaijanis, Yusif Yusifov said that this event, which has become our memory, should not be forgotten, the memory of the victims of genocide should live forever in our hearts.

Then, Chairwoman of the Women's Council of the Zoology Institute, Ph.D., Associate Professor Yegana Mahmudova said that important work has been done in recognition of the Khojaly genocide by the international community in Azerbaijan's foreign policy.

Chairperson of the Women Council of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Professor Rena Mirzazade, Alovsat Gasimov, Firdovsi Alekperov, Deputy Chairman of the International Relations Department of the United Nations Office on Human Rights, Head of the Department of Zoology, Associate Professor Adil Aliyev, Tavakkul Iskenderov and others pointed out that the events of Khojaly are an international terrorist act, have expressed their assurances that they will receive a decent punishment.

The film "Anger", dedicated to the Khojaly genocide, was demonstrated at the end.
