Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On February 25, the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi held a scientific session dedicated to the 110th anniversary of a prominent literary critic, honored scientist, academician Hamid Arasli.

First of all, an exhibition devoted to the scientific creativity of H.Arasli, one of the leading figures in the scientific and literary life of Azerbaijan in XX century, was demonstrated.

Vice President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, Academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the multifaceted scientific activity of prominent scientist, unprecedented services in the formation and development of Azerbaijani literature. He underlined President Ilham Aliyev's decree dated 11 February 2019 "On the celebration of the 110th Anniversary of Academician Hamid Arasli as another example of our attention to science and literary criticism.

I.Habibbayli noted that the doctoral dissertations on the subject "Literature of XIII-XV centuries Azerbaijan literature" defended by the prominent scientist have a high value as well as generalized researches of literary criticism of science. H.Arasli's works are reflected in modern Azerbaijan a reliable source for literary scholars.

Prof. Gazanfar Pashayev, professor Shirindil Alishanli, doctor of philological sciences Farida Azizova doctor of philological sciences Alizade Askerli made reports about Hamid Arasli.

Director of the Institute of Linguistics, Academician Mohsun Nagisoylu, Deputy Director on Scientific Affairs of the Manuscripts Institute, doctor in philology Pasha Karimov and others spoke about H.Arasli's creative work and said that his scientific heritage would be studied more and will remain a worthy example for young people.

In the end, the daughter of the scientist, correspondent member of ANAS Nushaba Arasli thanked President Ilham Aliyev, event organizers and participants on behalf of family members for attention and care shown to his father.
