Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Institute of Architecture and Art held a scientific and practical seminar devoted to the 100th anniversary of Honored Artist Mansur Shirvani on March 14.

Head of the Department of the Institute, Ph.D. in History Vidadi Gafarov noted the significance of holding anniversary events of such artists as Mansur Shirvani.

Further, Ph.D. in History Rajab Mammadov delivered paper devoted to famous figures and masters of circus art. It was noted that the traditional circus art in our country dates back to ancient times, but the professional circus established in a relatively recent past. And one of the talented circus performers is a master of manipulation and illusion, trainer, Honored Artist Mansur Shirvani.

Mansur Shirvani, being a professional lawyer started his circus career in 1949. He was one of the leading artists of the Azerbaijani national circus group. He represented our national culture in many countries of the world.

In conclusion, fragments from the documentary devoted to Mansur Shirvani were demostrated.

Circus master Tofik Iskenderli noted the importance of such an event and expressed gratitude to the organizers.
