Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists and the Institute of Chemistry of Additive held the “Evening of the chemistry subject” devoted to March 27 – “Science Day” at the secondary school number 251 of Nizami district, Baku.

The event participants visited “Small Academy”, created at the school, and were also informed about the students' space project. There was also an inspection of the exhibition of works of students.

School director Aygun Azizova stressed the importance of holding the event, noted that it helps to attract the attention of students to science. She spoke about the success of school students, both at the international and national levels.

Further, the chairman of the ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, Phd. in Physical sciences, associate professor Famin Salmanov noted the significance of the Order of AR President Ilham Aliyev on the establishment of “Science Day” in the country dated April 9, 2018. In order to hold this significant day in the country at a high level, the Council for the Coordination of Scientific Research of the Republic of Azerbaijan approved an Action Plan.

Speaking about the work done in the field of integration of science and education, F.Salmanov stressed that, the Academy has established a master's degree, cooperating with universities and institutions of secondary education in the country. In addition, students had an internship at ANAS as part of the "Scientists of Tomorrow" competition.

Further, head of the laboratory of the Institute, PhD in Chemistry Afsun Sujayev delivered popular scientific works on “How to protect yourself from dangerous diseases”. The winners of the competition and students were awarded diplomas and and letters of appreciation.
