Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry held a seminar on “Science Day”

ANAS Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry held a seminar on March 27 -“Science Day”.

Vice-President of ANAS, director of the Institute, academician Dilgam Taghiyev opened the event and said that, the seminar was held within the framework of the Order AR President Ilham Aliyev on the establishment of “Science Day” in our country on April 9, 2018.

Then, the report by the academician on "Popularization of science: speedy development of science and its results" was listened. The main purpose of popularizing academic science is to convey the complex scientific results to the public in a simple and understandable language. He also said that, rapid development of science can destroy humanity as it simplifies people's lives.

Speaking about the main trends in chemistry for the next 50 years, D.Taghiyev said that, this area will develop at a qualitatively new level thanks to the chemistry of complex molecules, genetic engineering, nanotechnology and other areas. Academician said that, institutes and laboratories are engaged in the popularization of science in a number of leading countries, such as China, Russia and the United Kingdom.

Then, the scientist shared the views of world-renowned scientists on chemistry, as well as on the importance of popular science books on chemistry.

In conclusion, a group of employees of the Institute was awarded diplomas of the Department of Chemical Sciences on the occasion of the “Science Day”.
