Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Eric Sandvol, Assistant Professor of University of Missouri (US) met with the director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center, corresponding member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli.

Project "The Caucasus Cut" was discusscased by Azerbaijan and American seismologists. Eric Sandvol noted that, within the framework of the project was collected data at stations, installed in 3 regions of Azerbaijan (Neftchala, Hajigabul and Goychay). The scientist added that, he would also visit the Ismayilli and Guba regions and will collect information till April 17.

ANAS corresponding member Gurban Yetirmishli said that, collaboration between seismologists from US and Azerbaijan givs positive results, and noted that the results of seismic work in the Caucasus will be important for seismological science in general.

The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation.
