The closing ceremony of the international seminar on "Horizons of Cooperation in the Field of Nuclear Physics, Elementary Physics and particle detectors between the United Nuclear Research Institute (BNTI) and Azerbaijan" was held At the Institute of Physics of ANAS.

The last day of the seminar was dedicated to the memory of the former head of the Institute of Physics, correspondent member of ANAS Ovsat Abdinov.

The event was opened by Academician Nazim Mammadov and emphasized that the main scientific activity of O.Abdinov is related to high energy physics, as well as NICA (Nuclotron based ion collider facility) project, which was laid in 2013 by BNTI and is planned to be completed in 2020.

N.Mammadov also spoke about the activities of Azerbaijani scientists in the discovery of the "Nobel Prize" awarded to the Nobel Prize.

Deputy director of the Institute for Innovation and Transfer, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences Ayaz Bayramov emphasized that O.Abdinov's researchers are engaged in science not only in the CIS, but also in different countries of the world.

Mikhail Itkis, Deputy Director of BNT, Nikolay Rusakovich, senior researcher of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems of the Institute, and Vladimir Korenkov, Head of Information Technologies Laboratory, spoke about the importance of O.Abdinov's researches.

A film about life and activity of the scientist was demonstrated at the event.

Then the guests got acquainted with the modern research facilities and material-technical base of the Innovation Sector of the Institute of Physics.
