Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The Institute of Natural Resources of Nakhchivan Division of ANAS held a science conference devoted to the 150th anniversary of the periodic table of elements.

Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS Aliaddin Abbasov informed that UN General Assembly announced this year as “International Year of Periodical table of chemical elements” and noted that Russian scientists Dmitri Mendeleev discovered Periodic Table of Chemical Elements 150 years ago. The scientist pointed out that the composition of the 10 million elements used in nature and the elements of artificial chemicals, as well as the basic and complex compounds of the entire Earth and its atmosphere, were brought to light.

Then deputy director of the institute Bayram Rzayev, PhD in chemical sciences Ahmed Garayev, and Head of Physical Research Laboratory, PhD in Physics, Associate Professor Mammad Huseynaliyev delivered lectures.

It was stated that the periodic system of elements is graphically illustrated by the periodic law. Up to now, up to 600 tables, graphics, and pictures representing a periodic law are more advanced options.

At the end of the conference, the speakers answered the questions of the participants on the subject.
