Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The Institute of Literature of ANAS has hosted a scientific session on "Jafar Jabbarli's ideals of art and modern period" dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the prominent representative of Azerbaijan literature, playwright, poet and poet, writer, theater critic, film critic Jafar Jabbarli.

Within the framework of the session an exhibition of works by the writer has also been organized.

The event has been opened by the vice-president of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli. The scientific session is holding under President Ilham Aliyev's Decree dated December 17, 2018 "On the celebration of the 120th anniversary of Jafar Jabbarly". A number of events were held in different scientific and research institutions of the republic, including the ANAS. An employee of Institute of Literature, doctor of philological sciences, professor Asif Rustamli found "Kazim bey" novel and unpublished letters by J.Jabbarli, he said.

Academician Teymur Karimli, academician-secretary of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences of ANAS, said that the struggle for innovation and modernity constitutes the core of J.Jabbarli's creativity and that the writer is a person of freedom of personality, humanism, national liberty and independence.

Doctor of Philology, Professor Shirindil Alishanli, PhD in Art Studies, Vidadi Gafarli, PhD on philology Agaverdi Khalilov and PhD in philology Ayten Guliyeva has made reports at the event.

In the end, a documentary film "Light from the darkness" has been demonstrated.
